A great machine!!"

A fantastic machine! And btw, with regard to the first review from Bruce, you CAN run Lotus Notes on your Apple. IBM/ Lotus have an Apple version!
"Brilliant!! But let's analyse why..."

Let's not be emotional on the Apple/Windows debate. If you need to run Lotus Notes, Apple can't do it. If you are a massive gaming enthusiast, there are tons more games for Windows. But honestly, what does the average user need a PC for? Internet? MS Office apps? To organize photos, music, video files? For these people, it is quite moot why they need the millions of programs written for Windows. The vast majority will end up messing up your system anyway. Check out the iBook. It comes with a handful of totally brilliant, free and useful software. Everything is more beautiful and refined on an Apple and it's easy to use. Price is great, too. iBooks now start at well under S$2,000. Don't be misled by the so-called slower speeds. Apples are clocked differently from Wintel boxes and are at least equal, usually better in terms of speed, too. Try one, you won't regret it!
"The most stable computing hardware and OS ever built"
Joe Real on 16/05/2004, 08:14 AM
I have been using Windows OS for more than five years and I formatted and reinstalled OS for an average of four times a year. Windows OS is not stable and not secure. I NEVER regretted when I bought this iBook. The design is nice and performance-wise is the best. I strongly recommend other people to buy this hardware. I have been using this hardware for almost a year and yet I haven't encountered any problem. No hang-ups and crashes. Even viruses are now becoming extinct in my daily computing. I already reinstalled my OS not because there was a problem but just to experience how to reinstall OS X. I was surprised when I found it very easy to install. Even unexperienced users can do it. Although this hardware is a bit expensive, it's worth buying it. Now I'm planning to buy another notebook and I'm looking into the PowerBook.
"Apple is brilliant, as usual..."

I just got the iBook 1GB, 14-inch LCD display. It's my 3rd Apple notebook but the first time I'm using it as my "main" PC. If your needs are simple, such as Internet, MS Office applications, music, DVDs and digital pictures, I can't imagine why anyone would want to look elsewhere! Put your iBook running Panther next to your "no character" Win XP box and it's like parking a Ferrari next to a Hyundai Saloon. Thing is, I've long admired Apple and am not a "switcher", so when I look at the brilliant software, especially OS X, and the beautiful and reliable hardware, I'm not surprised at all, for Apple IS the better computer as it has been for many years.

With such good integration of the hardware and& software, it beats the Windows-run laptops I've used. Not to mention the wonderful Mac OS X. My PC is gonna be alone for a long, long time. That's how good it is
